It seems that every day there's a new word to add to your cerebral dictionary.
My current favorites are gemmelsmerch (I just love that word!) and screensuck. More importantly, they have, at various times, applied to me.
Gemmelsmerch is that force that drives you be distracted from your original intention. Author of the book "CrazyBusy: Overstretched, Overbooked, and About to Snap! Strategies for Coping in a World Gone ADD", Dr Ned Hallowell, describes the force as "pervasive and powerful as gravity".
And then there's screensuck. This is probably my biggest problem and the reason I often leave the laptop at home during my travels. Screensuck is the "need" to be near your PC screen (or any screen including television, Blackberry or video game).
I think the guys at xkcd.com have hit the nail on the head for many travel writers - check out their cartoon HERE.
